Part of the premiere Traditions
line, this full color chart has easy-to-read symbols.
It opens up to an oversized 17½”

tired eyes! Stitchers will love the stories about
rural crafts.

Michelle talks
about this pattern
Every weekend from September through October you'll
find us at a fall fair. A big attraction around
our hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, these fairs
celebrate everything from the biggest pumpkin
to the best-looking cow to the finest stitchery.
We find fall fairs a great way to spend time together
as a family, to meet old friends and new, and
to honour people who make things.
We all have
our must-dos: the boys race off to the rides,
Bob checks out the kids' art projects and I wander
among the stitching and quilts. The horses are
another big draw, with many fairs featuring Western
and English riding, barrel racing and heavy horse
teams. Most Saturday nights showcase a demolition
derby with lots of noise, smoke and cheers. (See
why I love them?)
Our design celebrates not just fairs, but autumn
itself ... raking leaves, jumping in leaf piles, the crunch underfoot.
This is a great piece to display in the fall, which is, after
all, like the start of a new year ... the kids are back in school,
the harvest is in, and Mom's returning to her own routine and
projects. I keep The Fall Fair hanging up until Halloween, after
which our cold November sets in and it's time to start thinking
Christmas.
